Please reach us at Gareth@gs-fitness.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No, remember that you're coming to Bootcamp to get fit. You may feel a bit out of your depth for the first few sessions, but if you attend the recommended 2-3 times a week you will notice a huge improvement in your fitness. If you are completely new to exercise we recommend that you consult with your doctor before you start with us. During the session the instructor will give you alternative exercises or an easier option if you are struggling.
All you need to bring to session is a drink and a positive attitude. All equipment is provided. We would encourage you to dress for the conditions, and if it is cold bring a warm layer to wear at the end of the class. We have safe storage for phones and keys in the van during the session.
It depends on the severity of the injury. We recommend consulting with your doctor before starting any exercise programme. If cleared, our personal trainers can modify your workouts to accommodate your injury.
Simply use the send message or Whatsapp button on the contact us page. Tell us which session you would like to attend and the instructor will book you in. We ask you to be at the session at least 10 minutes early as the is a registration form and a short health questionnaire to complete. Once you are at the session the instructor will explain what you need to do and introduce you to the rest of the team.
Yes, we train all year in all weather conditions. In winter when it is dark, we use floodlights to illuminate the park. The only time we will cancel a session because of weather is if there is a red warning, local thunderstorm, hot temperatures (in excess of 36°) or if the instructor decides that the conditions are too dangerous. To date we have never cancelled a session due to weather.
No, Although the Bootcamps origins are from a military setting we no longer have a military approach. So you won't be yelled at or punished for not doing something correctly and we don't use exercises where you are expected to carry, drag, push someone else.
You will need to dress appropriately for the conditions, Light moisture wicking sports wear are best, less layers in the summer, more in the winter. We do recommend that you bring a warm layer to put on at the end of the session. We recommend the use of trail running shoes as they have more grip that standard running shoes. Buy the best kit that you can afford, how comfortable you are is more important than how you look.
The standard Bootcamp class starts with a warm-up, then the main circuit which will be different every time followed by a short finisher and all ended with quick pack up of the kit and an instructor led stretch.
Our standard membership gives you unlimited access to all of our sessions, there is no need to book, you can just turn up. If you prefer we also have Pay-as-you-go options. These can be found on our "Bootcamp pricing" page.
Our standard membership does not have a minimum contract term nor do we charge a joining fee. All we ask is a months notice in the case of cancellation.
Our instructors have a Level 3 Pre and Post natal exercise qualification. If you have been coming to Bootcamp and you get pregnant you will be able to continue as normal through the first trimester we recommend that you get clearance to exercise from your midwife or doctor Your instructor will give you some alternative exercises as you progress into the second trimester. During the third trimester you can still train however you will need to take it slower. We would encourage you to exercise throughout your pregnancy, We would also recommend that you do some pregnancy Yoga and Pilates classes.
